The Canon EOS 600D is an 18 megapixel SLR camera. Powered by 14-bit DIGIC 4 image processor, the camera uses CMOS sensor with dimension of 22.3 x 14.9 mm. EOS 600D supports various aspect ratios like 3:2, 4:3, 16:9 and 1:1.

Body

The EOS 600D weighs 570g and has dimension of 133.1 x 99.5 x 79.7 mm. A user can take pictures using the Pentamirror Viewfinder or a 3-inch clear view TFT display screen. The LCD has a resolution of 1040K dot pixels and has dual anti-reflection and anti smudge coating. The camera supports SD card, SDHC card and SDXC card. The rechargeable Li-ion battery LP-E8 available with the kit can shoot up to 440 pictures in one charge.

Performance

Canon EF and EF-S lens can be mounted on the EOS 600D. This camera has TTL-CT-SIR Focus and can support both auto and manual focus. It has 9 AF points system (1 central cross-type sensor), that helps in accurate focusing of the object. The Canon EOS 600D has various Focus modes such as AI Focus, One Shot, and AI Servo and has a Focus range from EV -0.5 -18 (ISO100). The ISO of the camera ranges from ISO 100-6400 and can be further expanded to H (approx 12800).

This Canon SLR camera has an Electronically-controlled focal-plane shutter, which provides the shutter speed of 30 - 1/4000 sec, with the assistance of bulb. The EOS 600D has an inbuilt Auto pop-up E-TTL II auto flash with a range of up to 17mm focal length. External flash of E-TTL II auto flash with EX-series Speedlites can also be mounted on the camera.

Features and Connectivity

The Canon EOS 600D has a Scene Intelligent Auto feature, which automatically selects the best scene for user. A user can also manually select various scene modes such as No Flash, Creative Auto, Portrait, Landscape, Close-up, Sports, Night Portrait, Movie, Program AE , Shutter priority AE, and Aperture priority AE.

The EOS 600D allows user to set up self time of 2 and 10 seconds. The camera also can shoot at continuous mode at 3.7 fps. This Canon camera can record at Full HD (1920x1800) resolution at 30, 25 and 24 fps. It supports H.264 movie format and JPEG and RAW image format.

The Canon EOS 600D has a special function called Movie Digital Zoom, which allows 3-10x magnification even while shooting Full HD movie. In terms of connectivity, the 600D supports USB and HDMI mini.
