The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FP3 Point and Shoot is one of the most slender digital cameras in the Lumix series. Designed for portability, this digital camera is hardly the size of your palm. The Lumix DMC point and shoot is the best option for those who like to travel a lot and are extremely social.

This digital camera has a focal length of 6.3 - 25.2 mm and 35 mm equivalent focal length of 35 - 140 mm. The Lumix DC Vario lens in the Panasonic point and shoot offers an optical zoom of 4x and a digital zoom of 4x. The built-in CCD sensor captures beautiful images of people or landscapes at 14.1 megapixels. You get crystal clear images when the images are printed at a large size. The Lumix camera supports 4:3 / 3:2 / 16:9 aspect ratios.

One of the finest features of the DMC-FP3 camera is the thin lens cover which can be opened and closed with the touch of a finger. The attractively designed Lumix camera has a matte finish while the lens cover has a textured finish. The Panasonic point and shoot has flat body and weighs only 125 g without battery and memory card. The buttons are cleverly placed next to the display screen for easy access and usage.

The 3 inch TFT Touch Screen LCD Display allows you to access and browse through the images stored in the camera. With a resolution of 230000 dots, this LCD Display comes with a protective Anti-Reflective coating. Equipped with Venus Engine IV processor, this Lumix DMC-FP3 can record videos in dynamic HD with 1280 x 720 resolution (30 fps).

Battery and Storage

The ultra-slim Panasonic Lumix DMC-FP3 is powered by a rechargeable Lithium Ion battery pack and can shoot up to 300 pictures when fully charged. Apart from the built-in memory, images and videos can be stored in an SD, SDHC or SDXC memory card; and when you run out of storage space, simply connect the camera to your laptop or PC with the USB 2.0 and transfer all the data.

Performance

The aperture of a camera refers to the lens opening which controls the amount of light that falls on the image sensor. The Lumix DMC camera has an aperture range of f/3.5 - 5.9. The auto focus in this point and shoot starts from 50 cm (Wide) and 50 cm (Tele) in Normal mode and in the Macro mode, this camera auto focuses from 10 cm (Wide) and 50 cm (Tele).

With an extended ISO range of 80 - 6400, you can capture sharp and clear images even in during twilight. The shutter speed, which regulates the amount of time that light is allowed to fall on the image sensor, ranges from 8 - 1/1600 second. The higher shutter speed allows you capture images of subjects in motion. This Lumix DMC camera features a built-in flash which covers a range of 0.3 - 4.9 m (Wide) and 0.5 - 2.9 m (Tele).
