This HCL Tablet runs on the Android v2.2 Froyo Operating System and is accelerated by ARM 11 800 MHz Processor, which reduces power consumption and simultaneously gives you high speed internet access. The HCL ME AE7 comes with 256 MB DDR2 of RAM. The Tablet also has an in-built accelerometer, the G Sensor, which supports rotation, that is, it adjusts according to the direction in which you hold the Tablet.

Design

Weighing about 400 g, the HCL AE7-A1 is designed for easy portability, such that the Tablet can even fit into your back pocket. This HCL Tablet is about 14 mm long, 205.4 mm wide and 110.92 mm deep, and has a 7-inch Resistive Touch Display screen with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels. The Tablet is integrated with a microphone and has a front-facing Secondary VGA camera of 0.3 megapixels to ease your video chat experience on Skype, Gtalk and other applications.

Storage and Battery

The HCL AE7-A1 works on a 2400 mAh Lithium-Polymer rechargeable battery which gives a backup of up to 6 hours. The Tablet has an internal memory space of 2 GB (NAND Flash memory) which can be extended up to 8 GB via a micro SD and SDHC card.

Connectivity and Features

This HCL Tablet has various options for fast internet access. The Tablet conforms to 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi connectivity, and is integrated with version 2.0 Bluetooth connectivity. The device comes with an EDR EVDO dongle USB Interface, which is a standard for high speed wireless broadband. The Tablet also has a built-in high sensitivity GPS receiver. The HCL ME AE7 supports Full HD 1080p videos, up to 25 frames per second, and supports MP3 audio format (64 Kbps-320 Kbps).
